Flow Beverage Corp. Celebrates Earth Day

TORONTO--()--Flow Beverage Corp. (TSX:FLOW; OTCQX:FLWBF) (the “Company” or “Flow”), is celebrating Earth Day with continued progress on its mission to bring wellness to the world through the positive power of water.

Flow has the highest B Corp rating of any beverage company in the world, with a score of 126.5, and has been a Certified B Corp since 2017. B Corp certification is only given to companies that meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability and accountability and use business as a force for good. Additionally, Flow's NSF (formerly the National Sanitation Foundation) and British Retail Consortium (BRC) certifications ensure we efficiently use water resources and meet the highest standards of food safety. Certifications allow customers to trust Flow's products' integrity and that Flow's sustainability claims are verified by independent third parties. Moreover, the audits Flow must go through to maintain its certifications require the Company to consistently maintain world class sustainability standards.

These achievements are no accident. Flow’s packaging, supplied by Tetra Pak, is made with up to 75% renewable materials. The largest ingredient in our packaging material is paperboard, which is sourced from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), while the cap is made from renewably sourced sugarcane and is completely biodegradable. Our flavors are QAI Organic certified as we strive to give our consumers the cleanest ingredients possible while also helping to reduce the number of harmful chemicals released into our environment.

The Company operates its production facility with 100% renewable energy sourced in Canada through Bullfrog Power, is a member of the Amazon Climate Pledge, offsets its travel emissions with Goodwings and offsets e-commerce emissions with Ecocart. Flow is also a member of the Starbucks Partners for Sustainability program and supports initiatives such as litter cleanup projects and, most recently, National Tree Day across Canada. Flow supplies water to Live Nation to meet its goals of phasing out the sale of single use plastics and providing products with a high degree of renewable resource content. While this is not all that Flow does to achieve its high sustainability score, it illustrates Flow’s all-encompassing commitment to sustainability.

Together, the steps Flow has taken to operate with the highest environmental standards has diverted over 130 million plastic bottles of water from entering landfills and with zero net operational emissions.

Looking forward, Flow’s environmental goals include:

- Achieving a 100% renewable, plant-based pack by 2030

- Achieving carbon negative operations by 2025

- Avoiding 500 million plastic bottles by 2030

- Recycling 98% of our processing water by 2025

- Increasing our B Corp score by 30% in 2025

To help achieve these goals, Flow has a number of initiatives in progress. As part of the summer hydration campaign and the Flow brand refresh, Flow will be launching new Tetra Pak prisma packaging comprised of 81% plant-based renewable resources. The new Tetra Pak carton replaces traditional polymers with bio-based polymers and contains post-consumer recycled content for the first time. Flow's new package is also designed to have the lowest carbon footprint to date: seven times lower than glass, four times lower than aluminum, and three times lower than PET.

Flow is also collaborating with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to develop a comprehensive spring monitoring plan which will ensure sustainable yield of water and preservation of Flow's spring's habitat for years to come. Lastly, Flow is in the process of recertifying with B Corp to maintain its leading position as a sustainably-minded operator.

Nicholas Reichenbach, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flow, stated: “Reducing our environmental footprint has been central to Flow’s mission since inception. This includes water stewardship, renewable packaging, climate protection and giving back to communities. Flow is committed to being a part of the solution and we are going to remain proactive by growing the Flow brand through environmentally sustainable practices.”
